Former Falcon wrestler and state qualifier, Matt Schoettle, is entering his 7th year at the helm of our great program and his 26th year as a coach with Perry Meridian High School. Entering the 2021-22 season, Coach Schoettle's career record as a coach at Perry Meridian is 545-55! Coach Schoettle has been an intricate part of Perry Meridian's success at all levels for many years. Coach Schoettle has been a major influence and contributor to state qualifiers, state place winners, state champions, USA Wrestling state, and national place winners and champions, and NCAA All-Americans, and an NCAA Champion!

After wrestling for the Falcons Coach Schoettle had a very successful career wrestling for the University of Indianapolis, and also carries the title of being a United States Marine!

Coach Payton is a former Perry Meridian Wrestler and a member of the 2004 State Runner-up team.

Coach Payton played college football at Anderson University and was a 3-year starter at running back.
He gives wrestling a tremendous amount of credit for his success on the football field and truly believes every football player should wrestle.

This is Coach Payton’s 13 th year coaching and 9 th year coaching at Perry Meridian, and has been an intragrate part of producing multiple State Champs and place winners.

Coach Payton and his wife Aimee have two children Averie and Mason, who are now a part of the
PMWC Elementary team.

When not involved in wrestling, Coach Krulik spends his time outside and with his family.  His dog, Milo, is the greatest dog ever!  Coach Krulik is a history teacher at Vision Academy.

Coach Sabik is a former Perry Meridian wrestler, state place winner, and member of the of the 1992 State Runner-Up team. This will be Coach Sabik's 40th year of involvement with Perry Meridian Wrestling. As a coach he has contributed to multiple state champions, place winners, state qualifiers, and USA Wrestling All-Americans, college All-Americans, and National Champions.

In Coach Sabik's time away from the wrestling room he works on an aviation fire fighting team, and spends time with his fiance Jessica (club treasurer), two daughter's (Rilee and Kirstin), son Logan, and grand-daughter Emery Rose. Coach Sabik also served in the United States Marine Corps and Indiana Army National Guard for 16 years.

Coach Bova is a Perry Meridian graduate and one of the most decorated wrestlers to come through our program. While wrestling for the Falcons, Coach Bova was a 3x individual state place winner and a member and leader on 3 of our teams that were Team State Champions. Nick was coached by members of the current coaching staff.

After graduating from Perry Meridian, Coach Bova continued his career as a student/athlete at  Wabash College. During his time at Wabash College Coach Bova was a 2x DIII All-American. Coach Bova graduated with a major in Economics and a minor in Math. 

Coach Masengale is one of the best wrestlers to come through Perry Meridian Wrestling. Jake was a 2x Individual State Runner-Up, and a valuable team member of our State Championship Teams. After wrestling for Perry Meridian, Jake went on to be a varsity wrestler for Indiana University. Coach Masengale was also coached by current members of the coaching staff.

Former Perry Meridian wrestler, State Runner-Up, and Perry Meridian's 1st Individual State Champion, member of the 1992 State Runner-Up team, NJCAA All-American at William Rainey Harper College. Coach Hammond has 39 years of involvement with Perry Meridian Wrestling. Coach Sabik has always looked up to me (Coach Sabik approves of this message).

Coach Wells has over 30 years experience in the management and administration of amateur wrestling programs, particular in southern Marion County and Northern Johnson County. He specializes in the organization, data collection and statistical analyses of competition data and results. Coach Wells began his career with a thirteen year stint at Greenwood Middle School and High School. He followed this experience with fourteen years at Roncalli High School and the Indy Southside Wrestling Club. This will be Coach Wells’ fifth year with Perry Meridian Wrestling.
